Bangkok Hosts Global Muay Thai Event Finale
BANGKOK (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in partnership with Rajadamnern Stadium, has successfully concluded the “Amazing Muaythai, Road to Rajadamnern” event at Bangkok’s Rajadamnern Stadium. The final round featured top Muay Thai fighters from earlier rounds in Slovakia and Japan, attracting a global audience.
Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, said the event on December 22 is part of TAT’s strategy to offer experience-based tourism, focusing on Thai soft powers like food, film, festivals, fight (Muay Thai), and fashion. The event aimed to elevate visitors’ travel experiences in Thailand, spotlighting Muay Thai’s global recognition as a legendary martial art.
The event series, which began in Tren??n, Slovakia, and continued in Yokosuka and Yokohama, Japan, culminated in Bangkok with four exciting fights. Winners included Monika Chochlikova for the WMC Female Intercontinental Bantamweight Title, Asahi P.K.Saenchai for the WMC Asia Featherweight Title, Ramu Araya, and Saya Ito in their respective categories.
The “Amazing Muaythai, Road to Rajadamnern” series witnessed sold-out events, drawing over 5,000 spectators across its four rounds in Slovakia, Japan, and Thailand. This year, Rajadamnern Stadium also experienced a major increase in international fan interest, highlighting Muay Thai’s enduring popularity and its contribution to sports tourism in Thailand.
