MSU Hosts 7th Silk Road Chinese Language Contest
MAHASARAKHAM (NNT) - Mahasarakham University, together with the Chinese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, has organized the 7th Silk Road Chinese Language and Culture Skills Competition, marking an important step in the cultural and educational exchange between Thailand and China.
The event was inaugurated by Mahasarakham Deputy Governor Wiwat Inthaiwong and Liu Hongmei, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Khon Kaen. Also present was Dr. Pondej Chaowarat, the Vice President for Public Relations and International Affairs at Mahasarakham University.
Held at the university’s Confucius Institute, the competition brought together students majoring in Chinese from various universities in Thailand’s Northeast, the National University of Laos, and Indonesia’s Al-Azhar University.
Participants competed in three categories: knowledge of Chinese language and culture, Chinese performing arts skills, and recitation of Chinese literature, vying for the coveted Silk Road Trophy. In total, 14 higher education institutions from the Northeastern region took part in this event.
The Silk Road Competition serves as a platform for demonstrating linguistic skills and cultural understanding and as a means to enhance intercultural dialogue and cooperation, further solidifying the educational and cultural bonds between Thailand and China.
